When you feel that first crisp breeze, you know that summer is gone and autumn is in the air. Autumn has always been one of my favourite seasons.. it’s when nature is at its best beautifying our world by painting it with fiery and golden warm beautiful colours, its when every leaf’s beauty is like a flower, you see? Just talking about it makes me poetic LOL
I know we like to hold on to summer for as long as we can, but it has been pretty chilly the past couple of weeks, so browsing for new season must-haves have never felt so guilt-free. I’ve rounded the latest ready to wear collections from high-street and online brands with the A/W15 trends in mind, and created transitional outfits that will see you through the rest of autumn ( cool for spring too). First on my wishlist, is an autumn inspired colour combination outfit from Zara. That oversized sweater looks so darn cosy, and it has front pockets! -perfect for keeping our hands warm just in case. Culottes and cropped trousers are my trousers of choice for autumn, and Zara has a wide variety of colours and in different textures too. Accessories: a touch of suede with this fringed bucket bag, sexy in lace-up shoes and cool for the winter tortoiseshell frame sunglasses.
Monochrome in Style – Carwash skirts are scrubbing up well this season on the trendy department, but if it’s not for you, this tassel A-line skirt might have just the right fringing. The juxtaposition of colours, textures and fabrics sewn together has never look so stylish, yes I’m talking about the Patchwork trend. I would suggest having it in small doses to avoid sartorial overkill, just like adding this patchwork bowler bag to complete this NewLook outfit.
Neutral Chic. Suede culottes, I must say is a genius combo when it comes to transitional outfit. I’m not just referring autumn-winter but brilliant for spring too. It’s roomy and comfortable, it’s like wearing a skirt in colder weather- it looks so wrong but felt so right- because it’s not actually a skirt, it just look like a skirt. I paired it with a stylish knitwear, uber sophisticated lace-up brogues and a touch of retro with this classic satchel bag.
High neck jumpers are not just cosy but it’s this season’s biggest knitwear trend too. Pair it with jeans like this mom jeans and fun footwear for daytime look, or a leather pencil skirt for a day till night outfit. The suede persuasion continues with this Asos 70’s style saddle shoulder bag.
I love the idea of a faux fur stole casually drapes over your shoulder whilst perfectly finishing off an elegant outfit. It maybe hanging against your plain coat or a printed top, it will surely help you keep warm in style. Leather trend is as tough as leather itself, it will never go out of style. This leather culottes from River Island is definitely one of my must-haves this season. Then let’s talk about pompoms! We can’t get enough of this year’s most famous novelty trend that we’ve seen hanging from almost on anything, shoes, dresses and accessories. The black quilted pompom circle handbag is just adorable right? This River Island outfit is perfect from day till night finished with a wow-factor with lace-up pointed heels.
There’s always a denim trend every season.. but make it interesting and cool like this denim dungarees from Asos, paired with the hot colour of the season, red of course! :)
Lace up over the knee boots is my favourite footwear for autumn-winter, like these ones from Missguided. Whatever you’ll wear with it, it’ll surely looks sexy and beautiful. Trust me ;)
We are loving the fringe trend so much that it continued through autumn-winter. From jackets to skirts and various accessories, fringing has never been so sought after. I will opt for a fringe skirt this season paired with a statement jumper, just like this effortlessly cool combo from H&M.
Whatever trend you’re digging this season, I hope you’ll find my high street wishlist helpful.
But remember, It’s what you feel wearing each outfit that matters, regardless if it’s on trend or not.
Lots of love,
