Hello my fellow denim lovers! :) If there’s one thing we have in common, I’m sure its the amount of denim we’ve own and worn over the years. Denim never go out of fashion.. I know you’ve heard that before, but as for me- Denim is Forever!
Updating your denim to make it look current whilst recycling your old ones is what this post is all about. I’ve hoarded a lot of denim jackets in my wardrobe for awhile to the point that I’m not making use of some of it. So one day, whilst clearing my wardrobe to make room for some new purchases, the thought of departing to some of my favourite denim jackets flipped a switch in my brain and gave me an idea – why not make a duster coat and jacket out of my old ones. And so I did, as you may have guessed ;)
To make it work.. use contrasting denims and choose in advance on which will be the top, middle and bottom bit of your duster coat, and how long you want it to be before cutting the sections (as shown in above photo). Then carefully sew it together.
Voila! Triple denim effect duster coat.
Nothing will be wasted as you can sew the other cut out denims together to make a patchwork effect denim jacket.
I know I’ve not made that much space in my wardrobe, but I’m happy because I’ve managed to update my old denim and made it look current. Thank you so much for stopping by and do let me know if you’ll give or have given this DIY denim a go.
Lots of love,
