Polkadots for Goodluck: New Year 2014

Happy New Year everyone!!!

I can’t believe it’s 2014 already, my 2013 certainly had been a very challenging one but I’m more hopeful about this year (fingers crossed).

Here’s a simple nail art I did before I went with my hubby and daughter to his cousin’s house to celebrate our new year’s eve. I literally rushed my husband to take these photos before we head for the door, and thank goodness for “dry in seconds” nail polish! I opted for Polka dots themed nail art for goodluck, it’s a tradition in the Philippines to wear anyting polka dots at the stroke of midnight… the circles represent the roundness of coins, wealth and prosperity. I kind of continued an old tradition I’ve known from growing up there, plus it doesn’t hurt hoping for extra luck, right?

2014 year of the horse

2014 is Year of the Horse, and I hope you’ve noticed the horse’s head (kind of) amidst those colourful dots *winks

I really enjoyed celebrating this holiday season with my family and indeed very grateful for it and hope you had one too. Thank you so much for dropping by and I wish you all the best for 2014!
