Music lovers rejoice! Music Festivals are just around the corner, I’m talking about Glastonbury, Wireless, Lovebox, Reading and Leeds Festival, Sonisphere, T in the Park and the list goes on! Almost every week in between July and August has got something to offer, maybe this music festival calendar might help, if you’re a festival first-timer like me or just plain forgetful (that’s me too!). The first and closest to music festival experience I’ve ever been to was this year’s Capital FM Summertime Ball. It was a great and fun experience indeed, but oh boy, did I need a three days rest after? Hell yeah! Although that doesn’t stop me from wanting to go to a bigger and muddier music festival one day, crazy huh?! It might not be everyone’s taste- you know more crowded, crazier and way louder than a concert that most of us have been.. Festivals are diverse and great experience that let you eat, sleep and breath music. There are dozens of bands and artists, playing varieties of genres, whether you like country, rap, rock, EDM or a bit of everything for days. But I’m as interested as to what people are wearing as I am with the music. Have you seen what people are wearing to festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury, cool huh?! It’s putting fun in fashion, whatever you’re wearing, can’t and won’t be use against you :)
My style was inspired by hippie meets hipster look; A vintage fringe sleeveless jacket paired with a colourful denim shorts I purchased via Instagram; Topshop leather bralet crop top, H&M metallic green sling bag; New Look spiky headband, and a hand-me-down leather ankle boots.
I’ve also asked my friend Ahlea on what a teen like her would wear to a music festival, and this is what she came up with..
She’s wearing a bandana from Claire’s accessories; Guns n’ Roses top and Jacket from Primark; Denim shorts from Topshop; Shoes are knock-off Dr. Martens; and M&Co. purse/sling bag.. cute grunge fashion huh?
Here are some other outfit ideas hoping to inspire you on your next festival fashion funventure! Details on my Asos Fashion Finder account.
Boots is definitely one of my festival fashion must-haves.. regardless of how cool and stylish you look, a muddy feet is a big No-No! I would opt for an ankle boots that’s cute but inexpensive, something I don’t mind getting scratch or soaked. Next on my list is cross-body bag or backpack, simply because it’s easier to carry. Keep in mind that you’ll be standing for long hours with a big crowd, so an oversized handbag is the last thing you would want to be carrying around with you right?
Another festival essentials are sunglasses and hats, it’s as important as your sunscreen and bottle of drink. Wearing something with fringe and crochet is always a good idea too, but don’t forget to bring your leather jacket though, just in case it gets chilly. Festival virgin? This Festival Do’s and Don’ts is very helpful, and definitely worth reading beforehand if you’re planning to go on music festivals in the future.
