It’s getting cold again, and don’t you just wish you could take your blanket (or duvet) with you to work or whilst doing the school run? Amazingly enough, this season that wish was granted in a very fashionable way. Blankets are the coolest way to wrap up this winter, as it happens to be the new AW14 style staple. It was first spotted at the Burberry Prorsum Fall 2014 show, hanging over Cara Delevingne’s shoulder, and now seen gracing the streets as worn by the likes of Olivia Palermo, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Suki Waterhouse and even SJP has one. Scarves masquerading as capes, cardigans with deep loose sleeves, winter wonderland style poncho or kimono, I’m seriously loving this blanket wearing trend. It’s warm, comfortable, and now fashionable? I mean, what’s not to love :)

However, if you’re craving the monogrammed Burberry version, it is going to set you back a cool £895. Luckily for us mere mortals, our favourite high street brands and online stores have plenty for a fraction of the price. Like my aztec knit blanket wrap from Boohoo for just £15. I paired it with my suede knee-high boots, leather shorts and belt, all from Primark. I’ve added a popped of colour with this red H&M bag. I bought on sale for a few quid. Earrings and long sleeve top from Primark too.

Wear it with a skinny jeans and knee high boots, and finished it with a fedora hat for a boohoo chic look. Wear over layers instead of coat, if you’re opting for a different look this colder season. If by any chance, since the weather is very unpredictable and it becomes all of a sudden too hot to wear these blanket wraps, just throw it over your shoulder, a la Cara ;)

Will you join the blanket brigade this season?

I think it’s very good for hiding this coming festive seasons; hiding from someone or hiding something after binge eating… you know what I mean ;)
